1. They will always give you the last bite of food. Thanks, Lady & The Tramp, for that lie. Not only will you likely be in charge of feeding your man, but note that he will also eat all of the food. All of it. Then he will expect you to go to the grocery store to get more. Sorry girls, he won't always give you the last meatball.

2. When you get married, every night is a romantic date night! Every night you will dance barefoot around the living room to your favorite song, then you'll watch The Notebook, then you'll fall asleep in his arms on the couch. Awww, how cute! Now get that idea out of your head right now. Instead of this...

You'll get this...
Boys love video games for reasons us girls can't understand. We can't change it. We just have to accept it. For some guys, it's not video games. It can be an obsession with sports, muscle cars, you name it. He's going to have a hobby you don't understand. I'm not really sure which movie planted the lie in our heads that every moment is a romantic one, but I'm inclined to blame Cinderella.
3. Your husband will never fart around you, and if by some chance he accidentally does, he will apologize profusely and show sincere remorse for his bodily actions. Ah, the. biggest. lie. of. them. all. Men are a gassy species. Thankfully my Dad was pretty crude growing up with the farting and pull my finger and all that stuff, so it wasn't too big of a shock when Parker started pulling the same antics. We will be watching a movie, he'll pass gas, and then he'll try to waft it in my direction to make sure I appreciate how smelly it is. Seriously girls, this is real life. Some men may be cruder than others with it, but you will be offended daily by their smells, and you will rarely receive an apology for subjecting you to such horror. I ask Parker all the time how something so foul could come out of something so precious, and I may never know. The guy on the left never seems to fart. The guy on the right sure does.
So there you have it ladies. This post was meant to be funny, and Parker and I sure got a kick out of ourselves when we were writing it, but there really is some truth to it. If you're in the market, stop looking for the prefect guy. He doesn't exist, but there is a guy out there that is perfect for you. Something else to remember, just like they aren't Disney princes, we're no Disney princesses either. We have habits just as annoying as theirs (well, at least they think so). I get frustrated with Parker for something as silly as having the TV too loud. I'm pretty sure Cinderella would just let that go. I hope this has helped to debunk the lies that Walt Disney so willingly planted into our hopelessly romantic heads. Cheers!

hahaha, this post made me literally LOL. Especially the farting. It's so awful, but somehow he thinks its funny every time. And last bite of food? I have to watch MY food - sometimes I leave my favorite bite for last and if I'm not careful he'll just steal it right off my plate. Thanks, Disney for all the lies.
Ahahah i love this post!! It is so true! I know a few single girlfriends who tell me about their "dream" guy/husband, and all I can do is roll my eyes at them and say "you wish!"
this is SO TRUE! I grew up on Disney movies too. Life is not like the movies! lol. Im with ya on the passing gas thing. My husband does that to me all the time!
This is hilarious! I love it:) Thanks for making my morning happier!
This makes me feel like I'm the guy in the relationship.. since I'm the one who never saves the last piece of food for him and I'm the one playing video games when he's asking me to stop.
But then I got to point number 3... THAT RIGHT THERE IS SO TRUE! Why? Why do they feel the need to fart? It's so gross! Let's not forget the burping. You drank a glass of water. Why must a disgusting burp come out of your mouth from that? Yuck.
Haha! Too funny! An expectation that I sometimes have is that I think my hubby will just sit down with me all the time and engage in meaningful conversations where we talk about our days and our feelings and what we are thinking. Of course this happens SOMETIMES, but usually when I ask him what he's thinking I get "nothing." and it's a little awakening to my Disney fantasy!
This is hilarious! And so creative!
I think it's pretty great that you and your husband came up with it together.
This post is great, and oh so true lol!
This is soooo true! Where is all the singing and musical numbers?
Our husbands sound so much alike! I also have no sense of smell, so I am sure that has made his flatulents much worse, but I can sure hear those suckers! I guess that is real life musical numbers.
I'm. Dying. The picture of Parker playing his video games made me giggle at my desk and the picture of him with the giant plate of Mexican food was even funnier! This is so so funny and so true!
I laughed SO hard while reading this. I guess I'm just waiting for a Disney prince to come to life and sweep me off my feet, haha.
I relate most with #2, those darn video games!!!
Haha! This is great! I think the list could go on and on!
LOL I love this post. It's so true....I wrote about something similar during my marriage series. While I love romantic films I finally realized it doesn't always work that way.
This is too precious! And yet, too true. Growing up on Disney was a blessing and a curse all at once. But I think we pretty quickly figure out that it's not very realistic, and what he have in real life is still romantic even if it doesn't fit the bill. Great post idea!

After having 80% of my stomach removed, I don't eat much and normally want to "pick" off Rob's plate.. he will literally give me the first bite or the last bite with no argument-- but yeah.. Lady and the Tramp.. I've never shared pasta like that!!!
HAHA. I love it. The picture of your husband playing video games looks just like my fiance. Thank goodness for headphones. :)
This post is HILARIOUS and so, so true.
New follower! I love your blog!
Ha ha! This is wonderful and oh so true! Thanks for linking up for Friday Funnies :) Have a great weekend!
This is seriously too funny! And so true! Disney movies really do give people such unrealistic impressions of things! From guys to hair to how easy it is to make animals do stuff for you.
This made me laugh! My husband does all of these things and I've just learned to love him despite it. He's still my Prince Charming even with all his faults!!
Haha! So funny! Thanks for linking up with Friday Funnies! I enjoyed reading this post. :)
