Tailgating Tuesdays: Crescent Roll Jalapeno Poppers

Football season is in full swing and so is tailgating. The Aggies came out with a win against Rice this past weekend. We are excited to watch them take on Sam Houston State Saturday! I have made these jalapeno poppers for previous football parties, and they are always a huge hit. My husband loves jalapeno poppers and requests them often, so I sought out to find a recipe that didn't involve the grill. For someone who doesn't so much as know how to turn a grill on, this recipe is perfect.

Ingredients (makes 16 poppers):
1 can refrigerated crescent rolls
4 oz cream cheese
4 jalapenos, seeds removed and sliced
4 pieces cooked bacon

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line cookie sheet with foil for easy clean-up.
2. Cut each of the pre-cut crescent roll triangles in half. This will give you 16 pieces total.
3. Place a small spoonful of cream cheese, a small jalapeno slice, and a piece of back into each triangle. For larger triangles, I added two pieces of jalapeno.

4. Roll each triangle up so that crescent roll is completely covering all sides.
5. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden. Let cool and serve with ranch dipping sauce.

 Enjoy!

  6. I make something similar to this as well! But I add tomato paste and a couple onions instead of bacon and cream cheese. But this version sounds yummy too! Especially with the football season coming up!

  13. These sound so good and so easy! We normally do them on the grill too, but this chick is afraid to light the grill on her own! I'll have to make these for one of the upcoming Aggie games! Whoop!
