So Long Aggieland, See You...?

I want to thank you all for all of the sweet comments, texts, Facebook messages, and prayers we received after Friday's post. I feel very blessed by this community and am humbled to know so many people are praying for my family. So thank you :)

Onto the weekend...

Apparently Parker and I just can't get enough of the car. After our third travel weekend in a row, the car is feeling like a second home. That said, it was another great weekend that I wouldn't take back! Saturday was Final Review in Aggieland, so Parker and I ventured back to our alma mater so he could see the guys that were his freshmen when he was a senior take their final pass as seniors in the Corps of Cadets. To sum it up, Parker is old and he now doesn't know anyone in the Corps. Cue a sad, sad husband.

He also got to reunite with some of his buddies that he hasn't seen in over a year, so that part was awesome! While Parker relived the glory days, I hung out with my sisters who so graciously took a break out of their finals studying to babysit their older sister. Can't beat it! We also got to spend the evenings with my parents and do a little double date night. Dinner and a movie with your parents may be lame when your 15, but it's the cat's pajamas when you're an adult!

Being back at Texas A&M is just a cool feeling. I've found that the older I get (I realize I sound a tad ridiculous since I am only 25, but let's roll with it), the more nostalgic I am about the past. Closing a chapter to start a new one is bittersweet. Nothing brings a more overwhelming sense of nostalgia for Parker and me than being back at A&M. Parker and I loooove being Aggies, and Texas A&M will always be so special to us. After all, it is where we met and fell in love. When all is said and done, it will always be the place where our story began. This was our last visit to our school for the foreseeable future. We won't be able to just drive up for a football game from Virginia, and that's okay. We will be back someday, and I sure hope it's sooner than later.

So long, Aggieland. Not sure when we will see you next, but we will be counting down the days! On the flip side, if we don't take another picture like the one below for the next few weeks, it will be alright by us. Jenny's face says it all.

Aw!! What a cool way to spend the weekend! I find that I too get super nostalgic the older I get. And don't worry, I feel old as dirt sometimes and I'm also 25. LOL!

It's so hard to leave the place that made you both feel so much at home, we had the same trouble leaving Albany, but it reminds you how amazing that place always will be no matter where you are :)

Oh my goodness, this is exactly what I'm feeling about leaving the USNA community! You worded it so well! It's nice to know I'm not the only one going through feelings of bittersweet nostalgia this week! :)
