26 Never Looked So Good

It's someone's birthday today! That handsome husband of mine turns the big 26, and I am so excited to celebrate him today and this weekend! I've mentioned before that we do "birth weeks" at our house, which is just a fun way to celebrate the birthday person all week instead of just on their day. I've felt sort of badly all week because there has just been so much going on. We moved in less than a week ago, so the days have been filled with work and the evenings have been filled with errands and Target runs.

The house is finally starting to feel like home, and we have the TV plugged in just in time for Parker's birthday. Typically, he would capitalize on his birth week by making us watch as many Game of Thrones episodes as the day would allow. Since the TV was unplugged, I managed to escape that one, but I told him we can continue his birth week into next week so he gets that quality Game of Thrones time. To couples who have the exact same taste in TV shows, I applaud you. We are similar, but I am almost to my limit with Game of Thrones, and he thinks the Bachelor is just about the dumbest show there ever was.

Anyway, that was a digression.

In all seriousness, I am so excited to celebrate this guy today. The Navy likes to take husbands away on important holidays, and it's inevitable that they are going to miss things, so getting to be with him on his birthday is a treat that I don't take for granted.

So thankful that he was born 26 years ago today. I wouldn't want to go through life with anyone else!

  5. Happy birthday Parker!!!! I love the idea of celebrating birth weeks-- my birth week is pretty much like a celebration since I usually get a 3 day weekend due to the 4th of July. And of course, lots of fireworks!
